Art | Current Exhibitions
The art work at the Convent Gallery is changed every eight weeks, so there is something new to admire on every visit to Daylesford. Each of the seven individual gallery spaces showcase the work of a different artist.
In our art gallery you will also find paintings, sculptures, prints & ceramics by over 100 other artists on display throughout the four levels.
Information regarding current exhibitions below:
Burnished Bowls
Petrus Spronk describes himself, not as a ceramicist or potter, but as a ‘traveller’, who records his journey in clay.
“Each bowl I make represents a discovery, a step along the way. Each bowl also represents a brief pause, a moment of reflection. It tells me where I am on my journey…”
Sergio Sill
Oil Paintings
COLOURS OF AUSTRALIA,
KIMBERLEY TO THE EAST COAST.
Sydney artist Sergio Sill documents his impressions of the Australian landscape…
its raw beauty, colours & textures.
Karren Stoneham
Oil Paintings
Karren likes getting her hands dirty and mostly paints with her hands.
Her round circular artwork is unique and has become quite fundamental to her art, adding an interesting dynamic to the paintings, symbolising portals or portholes looking out into a dreamlike realism of the Surf Coast.
Angela Anderson
Unsurpassed shorelines, meandering creeks, the iconic Cable Beach, rugged
pindan rocky cliffs, these elements all combine to set the stage for the main
feature, the Kimberley coast. It’s from the breathtaking coastal vistas that I
draw my artist inspiration and it’s an idyllic palette for my studio.
Sandipa
Mixed Media Paintings
Showing in St Michaels Room
Artist Profile
Barbara Hauser
Barbara’s trademark style is painting with acrylics on printed fabric. The colourful fabric in the background is typically blended into the core subject, adding another an interesting element to the painting. This method of painting on the floor means that she can create a ‘studio’ anywhere in the world
